Regional Planning Commission for Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parish
The Regional Planning Commission is one of eight regional planning agencies in Louisiana. Created in 1962 by the state legislature, the Commission was designed to fulfill federal and state requirements for regional comprehensive and economic development planning. As mandated by its enabling legislation, the RPC is the legal entity whose mission is to promote the general welfare and prosperity of the entire region by harmonizing the activities of federal, state, parish, municipal and other governmental agencies in the region.
