Representing various life science based projects and organizations, the New Orleans BioInnovation Center’s tenants are leading the way in biotech innovation in Louisiana.
The Center’s tenants are situated at the forefront of Louisiana’s burgeoning biotechnology activity in downtown New Orleans. The New Orleans BioInnovation Center’s new facility on the 1400 block of Canal brings together a group of inventive organizations, thus forming a collaborative environment for the promotion of bioscience development and innovation. The Center caters to a wide range of companies including pre-startups and startups to mature and expanding firms.

Argent Technology Ventures
Argent Technology Ventures is a venture capital fund in the process of being formed to make seed and early stage investments largely in the health care area, and will be focused on Texas and Louisiana, but seek opportunities in the entire Southern tier from Arizona to Florida. In addition to its office in New Orleans, upon the fund’s closing Argent will maintain offices in Baton Rouge and in Houston, Texas.
New Orleans Medical Complex (NOrMC)
NOrMC is a collaboration of universities in the medical sciences to further the development of the Medical District. NOrMC is concentrating on Workforce Development in Greater New Orleans. The goal is to train and increase a workforce from New Orleans that will be able to work in the Medical Sciences.
Southern Research Institute
Southern Research Institute is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 scientific research organization that conducts preclinical drug discovery and development, and advanced engineering research in materials, systems development, environment and energy. Its scientists excel in conducting translational research, taking basic and/or academic research concepts, evaluating them, and conducting the research needed to move discoveries from bench to the commercial marketplace.
TMS Bioscience
TMS Bioscience clinical laboratory provides specialty tandem mass spectrometry testing. Monitoring of transplant patient immunosuppression is a core service, including the unique HomeTrak™ kit option that let’s patients obtain samples at-home. Other areas of expertise are reference lab out-sourcing and a variety of specialty lab services for clients.
InnoGenomics
Founded by Dr. Sudhir Sinha, InnoGenomics is a genetics technology company on the cusp of commercializing one of today’s most reliable methods in genetic testing. Dr. Sinha’s methodology is based on the testing of Alu genes also referred to as the “jumping gene”. Once considered to be of no use, Alu genes are shown to require less DNA and produce more information than the existing Short Tandem Repeat genetic testing process.
VoiceHIT
VoiceHIT is an emerging inter-operable digital documentation solution and medical practice platform (MPP) company that is using technology to revive and restore the patient-provider relationship. MiniVax is a LSUHSC-NO spinout company and will be incubated at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC). MiniVax’s objective is to design a vaccine, MVX504, which prevents opportunistic fungal infections such as PCP in immunocompromised individuals of all ages.

EVONIR is the result of a group of forward thinking New Orleanians who leverage current technological advances into a new, improved and more efficient way of doing business. EVONIR’s mission is to improve the companies and government entities they partner with by implementing its technology solution to convert information into an asset.
Body Evolution
Body Evolution develops web and mobile apps / games that aim to improve body image, prevent eating disorders and reduce obesity risk factors. The apps and games are released under the company’s new brand Emerge, and are based on peer-reviewed research.

Bioceptive was founded in September 2010 to address the adverse events caused by current insertion tools and techniques as well as to expand access to the IUD worldwide by providing a more intuitive procedure for inserting IUDs.
