Wibi Works

Wibi Works is a Tulane University spin-off focused on inflammatory mediating stem-cell therapeutics. Wibi works has developed a unique platform for generating homogenous pools of pro- or anti-inflammmatory mesenchymal stem cells for the treatment of disease. By using the regulation of Toll-like receptors, the Wibi Works technology is able to homogenize mesenchymal stem cells into pools of cells that either uniformly promote or inhibit inflammatory pathways without inducing an innate immune response upon transplantation. This addresses the current scientific hurdle of mixed therapeutic stem-cell therapy outcomes based on the heterogeneity in stem cell populations between patients. The ability to create uniform cellular therapeutics with predictable behavior is anticipated to significantly augment the efficacy of mesenchymal stem-cell therapeutics addressing inflammation-related disorders, which has strong potential to revolutionize the available treatment options in clinical disciplines such as oncology, rheumatology, and Immune and Inflammatory Diseases (AIID).
