enVivatech, LLC

enVivatech is a life sciences company specializing in the rational design and production of peptide therapeutics and diagnostics for diagnosing and inhibiting herpes virus infection, such as human cytomegalovirus infection. enVivatech’s technology portfolio is based on Tulane research in the area of glycoprotein B (gB) bioactive peptides involved in fusion of the human cytomegalovirus (CMV) virion to cell membranes, which are useful for impairing virion-cell membrane fusion to prevent herpes-virus infection. Current herpes therapeutics are unable to permanently clear the virus, often creating life-long therapeutic dependence, which is often associated with toxic side effects. The unique safety profile of the enVivatech compounds make them prime therapeutic candidates for preventing CMV mother-to-infant transmission, a currently unmet medical need recognized by FDA as an Orphan Indication.
