This workshop is designed for both researchers in universities/institutions and technology-based small businesses that seek to utilize SBIR and STTR programs to fund their R&D efforts. It will provide a brief overview of SBIR/STTR, explain why these programs are worthwhile, describe how they differ from other research proposals, and present some important elements of the proposal preparation process. Dr. Berger will also help demystify the proposal preparation process by introducing simple strategies that can be applied to applications for all federal SBIR/STTR programs. The emphasis is on understanding the point-of-view of reviewers, by examining reviewer comments from actual proposals.
