The New Orleans BioInnovation Center seeks to identify and support the next generation of life sciences entrepreneurs in Louisiana. During the Innovation Louisiana 2013 entrepreneurship conference, we will bring together innovators, investors, and the local business community for the 2nd Annual BioChallenge, a pitch competition for emerging life sciences companies. On November 18, finalists will pitch in front of a panel of investors and industry experts for the chance to win cash and services prize packages worth more than $25,000!
Applicants should submit an executive summary describing the problem their startup addresses and the novel solution they are developing. Executive summaries will be scored by an independent panel of judges on several criteria, including business and product descriptions, market analysis, management team, and potential for investment.
Finalists will receive pitch coaching by the NOBIC commercialization team before presenting a 10 minute pitch on November 18. The first and second place winners will be awarded cash and services prize packages that include startup funding, free work space at the BioInnovation Center, and pro bono services offered by local professional services firms.
